As my right foot reached for the water, I felt something wash over me. No, it was not the touch of the wave that lightly grasped my ankles. It was even more powerful, inside of me. It begged me to be scared, to run. "Not one step closer, my dear. You better beware", it shouted at me. My heart beat grew stronger, the fear built inside. What creatures were lurking beneath these seemingly tranquil waters? What did their gruesome, sharp teeth feed on? Perhaps they were waiting on me this time. Though maybe this is just a story created out of unease and it is all just imaginary.
